Will Real Hip-Hop Replace Gangsta Rap?

Q-Tip & Common Forming Group, Album Coming [Source: NahRight.com]
I’m praying to God that this goes down because I miss Tribe and this will be the closet thing. I’m loving the throwback style from Kanye, Common, Lupe, just recently CRS [Kanye, Pharrell, Lupe] and now Common & Q-Tip. Bring HIP-HOP back!

I think that this will DEF happen, and here’s why.
People are tired of that bullshit on the radio, plust no one buys records or really listens to the radio that much anymore. It’s all about the digital music revolution, and people know how to FIND what they like now instead of have “popular” shit forced down their throat. This should weed out a whole lot of the filler, not completely, but will certainly help.
Ali and the Mixtape Monster def helping the cause.

Maybe it would replace Gangsta Rap as far as money-making Pop Music (Music for the Masses) is concerned.
But if you look, there will always be gangsta rap. As long as people live in horrid situations - yet have some sort of creative outlet (Music in this example) it will never die. However, will it make money?
Eh.
If anything, I look at Real Hip-Hop being a great new ‘type’ of Rap-Music. It would only make sense that Rap, given it’s relative youth, will expand on itself to new genres.
Radio might suck now, but back in the day, it was the Internet in finding out about new and awesome music. Soon the Internet will fall to Corporate Bottom-Lines (well, maybe a certain part, it is kinda happening), but the spirit of finding the newest and most deep-down artistically driven music will always live on.
